Don’t you find that the machines seem to go through very long streaks of dealing nothing but bad cards? It just seems to me that a real deck of cards could never play as bad as these machines do.
Wondering why the best hold in one hand is joker and the 8? because it is directly in the middle and can make straights? Seems like an odd hold
@Daniel Browne You are correct. This is still true even though keeping the lone Joker improves your chances at a high pair and wild royals. It is important to understand that the decision about which middle card to hold is VERY complex due to the fact that the cards you throw away matter. Simple example:
Joker, Qc 8d 6c 2s. The correct play is the Joker and 8d. You are discarding a Q and a 6, which reduce straights to make, but holding the 6 means tossing the 8 and the 2, which have the same impact on available straights. The 8d is correct because there are still 12 diamonds left and only 11 clubs.
One can use an analyzer such as found on Wizard of Odds to construct a strategy by brute force, but it is tedious work. But due to the frequency of such hands, it is worth the work if you happen to be betting hundreds of thousands of dollars on Jokers wild. Unless you find an especially juicy situation, it simply isn’t worth the effort.

I’ve been playing video poker since it was invented in the 1970’s and I believe you could have 15 winning trips in a row IF you are strong enough to walk out once you are up.

Same here, though since the 90s. Winning that many times in a row is Possible, for sure, just never done it…never even close. Probably could have won on 6 or 7 trips in a row if I could, yes, leave when I was up.

I know a few gamblers who watch your videos here in my neighborhood. When I walk by them, they are playing Joker Poker and Bonus. They were die hard DDB people. So few machines have Joker Poker anymore. I remember playing Joker Poker more than 30 years ago. You had some really good hands! My local is slowly removing VP machines out, replacing them with massive slots. Good luck !!

WOOT! I’ve done 15 but that was in the 80s. Joker Poker is a tough game for me. I have a difficult time finding the logic in some of the holds.

Just like the slot videos people want to see the raw results. It makes me think you would not share if you had a bad session when you cut off so often so yeah if you only share good ones it is 13 in a row.
