I went to a CART race at Michigan Int’l Speedway long ago. A family friend was on Rick Mears’ crew so we got to go to pit level. This was not long after the 1981 Indy where there was a pit fire (also Rick Mears) and so everyone was barred from the actual pits. I still stood within arm’s reach of A.J. Foyt. Aannddd I just realized neither of you were born. Well hell, It was a very cool experience, and I liked watching your footage of this race. You might have to start an offbeat travel channel.

The Paddock and area (in Las Vegas) was built where I used to live; The Grand Plaza Apartments. They used to take up that entire area. As much as I love, but could never afford, an F1 event, this seems rather befitting, somehow. Although a lot of people lost their homes when Grand Plaza was razed and the lot remained vacant for well over a decade.
That opening was so fun.felt like we were all on a road trip together!!! You are such a cute couple 😊
