    1. @@antzooma I know him in person, he‘s definitely likeable. But just trashtalking is always an option.

    2. It seems that the old school days or the poker heyday had all the fun characters to watch. Plus the commentary isn’t like it is to be back in 2003 thru 2010

  1. Regarding the Dario/Marchington hand miscount situation; From TDA, which the WSOP uses.

    49: Accepted Action.

Poker is a game of alert, continuous observation. It is the caller’s responsibility to determine the correct amount of an opponent’s bet before calling, regardless of what is stated by others. If a caller requests a count but receives incorrect information from a dealer or player, then pushes out that amount or declares call, the caller has accepted the full correct action and is subject to the correct wager or all-in amount. As with all situations, Rule 1 may apply at TD’s discretion.

As soon as the dealer announces 17.2, a player not even in the hand says “I think it’s more than that”. To me, that shows Dario could have noticed if he was paying attention too. Even from the camera angle, it’s not hard to see that 17.2 has to be incorrect. There’s a full stack of 100k chips (2m), a full stack of 500k chips (10m) and 8 or 10 1m chips. That’s at least 20-22m right there.

One of the main reason, imo, the rule exists is to prevent players in Dario’s position from angle-shooting in the event of a miscount. If a player notices the dealer miscounted the bet, they can call and say nothing if they win, while protesting if they lose. That’s not how poker, or life, works.

Yes, I get it, “ThE dEaLeR sHoUlD dO tHeIr JoB”. Dealers are human, they make mistakes at work just like literally everybody. Even the best dealers make mistakes from time to time. It’s the players themselves that are the ones competing for millions of dollars, pay attention and protect yourself.
