2:47 Ya know, ugly as it’s been, it’s good to know, somehow, that after all these years Phil is still just Phil. The dude abides, you know?
That reminds me: Where’s Johnny Chan? I’m serious! Give the man some limelight. How’s his game today?
Much love.
Also, F1 in Vegas blows my mind.

The problem for Phil is that forever more the Q/4 is going to be known as the “Hellmuth”. Also, he has no right ever again to complain about anyone else’s questionable calls. If he starts whining, people can just point to his call against Foxen and tell him to shut up.
The odds were CORRECT after the 3 bet. In spite of what anyone says. Especially if you care more about the title than laddering.
Yes he shouldn’t rant at the other players like he does but with this hand he had already put 350 in, he only had 540 behind, the pot was 1.33 million, meaning if he calls its 1.87 million so at that point mathematically it would be a correct call even if he knew he was up against AK. Even against the exact hand he’s up against in 99 he’s only 1% off getting the right odds. There is obviously a possibility Foxen thinks Phil is on a bluff an does this with anything unless were saying he’s not good to get a read on Phil (since Phil was bluffing). Felt like going for it this time but we all know Phil will make some very tight folds when all in at times regardless of the math too so that can change ranges vs him. The commentating on this hand is just awful, makes it seem he’s not getting anywhere close to the right odds and automatic fold when he’s put almost 40% of his stack in there already.
@SAVAGE GAINZ COACHING Pretty much every professional poker player known for playing analytics says you’re wrong. Phil, who openly admits he loathes analytics, just happened to stumble on a goldmine all the analytics experts are missing…LMAO
Hellmuth hand at 40:00
Thanks
“I play bad poker, we all play bad poker at some point” Daniel’s face looks down in disbelief. Like something went wrong with the computer.🧐
Phil’s a Mush
It would be owesome to have subtitles. Anyway, thank you for the videos. Hi from Spain.
Great podcast gentlemen, thank you
From the guy that lost to Phil heads up 3 in a row and got smoked by a guy that essentially left the game. Wow. Easy to criticize.
He was short stacked to start with. Wasn’t that big of a deal
Daniel said he wasn’t last so ICM implications etc. on the call, but he would have been last or roughly tied for last if he folded. It was a REALLY light 3 bet, but he was close on a call mathematically even with ICM. It wasn’t good, but it wasn’t atrocious. It wasn’t some 10% equity where he needed 90%. He only needed around 30-35% equity and had 28% or so.
You are so right. His small stack which was almost half committed was the biggest factor in the hand.
i know im incorporating Q4 off into all of my ranged its the nuts right next to J2 off
Honestly, I think Negreanu is jealous of Phil. Really jealous. It’s kinda sad.
This was a very Good 1
Thanks Guyz!!
Could he have thought it was QA and just too embarrassed to admit he misread the hand.? Wouldn’t be the first time a 4 was peeled partially and mistaken for an A.
Phil Galfond is fucking hysterical! I was rolling!!!
Helmuth probably misread his hand. The 4 looks like an ace if you don’t check your hole cards well enough. He though he had AQ.
