  1. Bravo for luda folding set there, this is why i hate flop 3 bet, its alwasy super strong and hard to balance

    1. Here is how you balance it… do it with crazy draws (you have great equity but you’re probably behind,) and blockers (air,) once in a blue moon. That way you can actually 3 bet your sets and get paid. But yes, generally you call in modern poker and it’s just a matter of how many bigs you have and getting the money in by the river.
Matusow is stuck in 2003 in a lot of ways.

    2. @@Peter-zg3emI bet Mike does, at least sometimes ,3 bet other stuff too. Probably not entirely balanced, so you can def lean towards the fold button

    3. @@Peter-zg3emthis is only accurate if u play with the same players everday. A 3bet call Will Always look super strong among a new set of people

    4. @@iacosta79 depends on the guy. I don’t about now , but back in the day Mike definitely would have 8-6, 7-9, 4-5 there at some frequency too. I think in this spot Mike got caught up in the dynamics that him and Luda had . Now wether Mike waits for heavy value in those spots or decent draws to do something is the question

  2. Is this a How To video on never getting max value from your strong hands?

  3. Being a bad looser is ugly, but being a bad winner is just obnoxious.

    1. Someone doesn’t have a clue who Mike “The Mouth” Matusow is, I’ll give you a hint he’s a legend of poker!

    2. @@Chris-pr7qo U are clearly a casual/ amateur poker player, Mike is definitely right up there as one of the best, he may not have as many accolades as say Phil, but Mike is definitely one of the legends and OG’s of poker & very well respected 🎤💧

    3. Just described the moth, not the mouth, to a tee! Bad winner (never tipped the dealer ONCE) and an incredibly POOR loser! He’s by far one of the worse humans on planet earth!

    1. He ran up 10k to 100k that game, you’ll never match that playing poker.

    2. @@RoCkShaDoWWaLkErdude got smacked in the face with the deck like nobody I’ve ever seen. I mean 3 sets in a row…come on.

    1. he is a genius? dude always bluffing lol, no wonder he got caught up, plus hes a bad person, laughing off his friend JBoog when he lost money , he laughing at him@@donmasacre4919

  4. Facing 2 options on the turn, all-in or fold. Fold was definitely the harder but correct option

  5. He’s won the min. And the AJ fold to secure a profit because he has no idea what to do playing so deep.

  6. 20:20 Best hero fold I’ve seen televised. Wtf. Luda is a sick player. If the lucker wouldn’t 3-bet flop, he would get so much more.

    1. If matusow raises the turn, it even looked stronger, against a reg you want to raise the flop to rep backdoor stuff

    2. Is mattusow doing this with aces even? Not really. He’s revealed he’s quite scared (the hand Vs Dr h) so he wouldn’t be barelling huge with an overpaid. Or even a two pair hand (his utg range doesn’t have many or any 2 pairs hands).

What’s luda beating? A bluff. And I think given the image/reputation that’s unlikely in this scenario.

I agree it’s a great fold, but given all the above it’s good disciplined play that actually makes a lot of sense.

    3. @@Tafek89 He’s probably folding aces vs this action (bet and a check-raise). You’re right, it’s still hard to fold a set.

    4. To be fair, the sizing Matusow took on a stone dry board were really sets. AA probably not. 2-Pair I doubt. Especially if he had 86, I can’t imagine he’d go $15k on the turn. Also left luda with less than a 1/3 pot behind so in Luda’s mind it might as well have been a $31k turn bet.

    1. ?? just means what you don’t know, he did tip the dealer, when she was about to leave he called her and gave her like a 400 dollar tip

    2. these games the dealers get pre tipped so its fine if no one tips them

    3. Uh no. You have no clue what you’re talking about@@khalidalshammari3566

  7. “I would have played much better, if I had known which two cards he had.” — Mike Matusow, poker genius

    1. Mike – “I was 90% sure he had a set”
Also Mike – Just calls river

  8. good job mike…representing the old guard….show these guys with all of their charts and graphs how it’s done….😊
