You often don’t get paid much for these hands because you have so much of the board dominated, it’s often hard for them to have something. On a 4 flush board the best flush the opponent can have is 3rd (8s). Sometimes they will have better, like boats, but not often.
@@evadecaptchaYea,you need river these huge hands to get paid. By then the $$ is usually already or close to being all in the middle. And not just royals,most big hands. It’s hard to get paid when you got the board locked
@@jjjrjjjr1 True, that’s another good point. When specifically dominate a scary bored on the flop, you usually can’t build a pot.

My grandfather worked in casinos round the world for 55 years. He only saw 1 royal flush and the guy won £5
I literally saw one yesterday. The guy who got it was 70 years old and he said it was his first one ever. at least 10 people he knew came up and congratulated him. It was so cool

I work at a casino and I’ve been there 2 years, I personally have given out 3 royal flushes, it’s rare but by no means impossible
I’ve made two with the exact same hand, the exact same way. Ah5h, both times turned the nut flush and rivered the Royal flush. And both times, I made just about nothing on the pot.

I’ve had two in my life. One in an online tourney and one in a live casino cash game. Held Q-10 Clubs both times.
I flopped a Royal flush in 20/40 at casino Arizona in Scottsdale. Holding KQ spades this was right after Blackjack was allowed in AZ in other words a very long time ago. Only time I’ve ever had one and I play regularly

Not just the royal, the 9 to boot.
The problem with getting a royal flush is that you aren’t likely to get paid with it. Trips are gonna be scared away by the fact that a straight and a flush are possible, your opponent will have a 9-high flush at best, and if the opponent has a straight they are going to be worried about the flush. Unless the opponent miraculously (for you) has a boat, you are unlikely to get anyone to commit a bunch of money to the middle.
It hurts so bad when you have the nuts and barely get paid for it
