  1. Daniel shoving leaves her less than 400K to call a 2.5mil pot. If he is wrong, he is out. Took balls to shove river

    1. He has nothing he has to bluff to win…she makes stupid bet he realizes she has to bluff to win.
      Easy bet

  2. Is there a stat on how often she had the better hand? Felt like she had it 90% of the time.

    1. TL:DR- Daniel only beats one hand: pocket 2s. Daniel will only win the whole pot 0.02% of the time (assuming his opponent calls)

      Here’s the math:
There are a total of 1326 possible combinations of starting hands in the game of Texas Hold’em. Daniel plays the board of 2 pair (Kings and 9’s) with a 3 kicker. Foxen wins the pot with any hand other than 33, 32, or 22 (of which, she chops the pot with 33 and 32, and loses the pot with 22). Since Daniel has the holding of 32- there are only:
      1 combo of 33 = chop pot
      6 combos of 32 = chop pot
      3 combos of 22 = Daniel wins

So Foxen only loses to 3 combos of a possible 1326.
      3/1326 = 0.002
Or 0.2% of the time Daniel has the best hand when he goes all-in.

    2. Daniel will actually not beat pocket 2s because the hand will be “9 9 3 K K” (two pair K and 9)in that case, since only the top 5 cards are selected. Since there is already a 3 on the board it doesnt matter. The best outcome in a showdown would be a split pot. If Foxen has a 4 or better, she wins. Daniel literally has the worst possible hand (i.e. one of them, the other ones being 22, 33, equally bad) for this board.

  3. Unbelievable play! He has to 1) figure her for nothing and 2) know she’ll bet the river. He has the nut low, so he can just lead the river but the fact he took this line is quite something!

    1. Pocket 2s simply plays the board and so 32 is essentially the same thing.@@ihazMtnDew

    2. Ehn. He had no chips left behind really. If he didn’t win that pot he’d get blinded out. Still ballsy though.

  4. Foxen got absolutely slapped with the deck. Daniel was getting dealt crap throughout the last part of the match.

  5. This is a hand that’s relatively easy for a pro but very difficult for an amateur.

    1. A bigger pair is not possible on this board.

    2. She doesn’t have a big pocket pair or their would’ve probably been a pre-flop raise. Plus, if she didn’t have at least pocket tens, one of her hole cards just turns into a kicker.

    3. Two pair and a set are not possible on this board.

    4. There’s no possible straight or flush.

    5. She didn’t flop a set of 9’s because after calling Daniel’s check-raise on the flop, she bet less than 1/3rd pot on the turn. If she had a set, you’d think she’d be trying to maximize value with a bigger bet into a check-raiser.

    6. She doesn’t have a king because, again, the pre-flop action would’ve been different. And after the river the two Ks act as blockers.

So, again, if she didn’t have at least pocket tens, one of her hole cards just turns into a kicker. So, either she has a pocket pair between 3-9, she has a 3 with a better kicker, or Daniel is winning with the nut low. And she obviously knows all this which means if she does have a pocket pair between 3-9 or a 3 with a better kicker why is she betting the river? Going for value hoping to get called by a lower pocket pair? Or a 3 with a worse kicker? After you’ve already been check-raised on the flop? And you have some showdown value? That’s just a negative EV play.

  6. Some of the most sincere table talk after the hand by two players sharing some respect. Nice to see.

  7. Foxen was actually running so hot this whole table swear she was hitting every other hand

  8. I love Dneg but if you watched this live, you’d know he was at his wits end and ready to all in anything after her bullying him for hours. Both knew she was running hot and him cold. She leveraged it well and never failed to go aggressive with the likes of 9-7 off. Two great poker players, the cards favoured her but her using that even on bad hands made it fun to watch. When he made his stands, she had to know if she could press or wait for a better position, she knew and that’s what won he the tourney.

  9. the crazy thing is that 8 high actually has some showdown value here with daniel having a 3 a lot with this line

    1. Yup either all in bluff or check back. Bet and fold was the worst play.

  10. The check on the river was awesome. She could have checked back so easily.
