  1. Its cut off but im pretty srue he basically goes on to say that rhere really is no true GTO for poker

    1. There is no true GTO but the best players know how to approach it as close as they can against other very good players and know how to deviate from it to exploit lesser players who make mistakes

    1. He’s saying that people are using technology in new ways to get better at poker

In the past it was a simple odds calculator but now it’s more sophisticated.

He goes on to describe AI poker players that play against each other with the goal o finding perfect poker theory,

The comments from the video suggest that negranu doesn’t believe the robots will come up with “ the perfect game theory“

    2. @@01hZ this is the best post I’ve ever read on YouTube. It was ai generated wasn’t it 😢

  2. Anyone who plays any sort of real poker knows it’s a very subjective game and not objectively simple as just math. Math helps sure but when it comes down to the nitty gritty it’s about who’s been paying attention the most, who’s absorbed the most useful information while on the table, deducing capabilities, execution, timing, all the things that can’t be shown with just math. That’s why the two AIs broke even against each other, I would’ve beat both them at the same time 3 handed over large sample size. Because a calculator based logic in poker is going to be pretty straightforward and linear and therefore easy to predict. My guess is using larger then orthodox preflop sizes to bait it in to playing marginals more frequently. Just one tactic I wud use

    1. You’re talking about poker in practice. Poker in theory is essentially solved. But that doesn’t really matter bc humans can’t play at that level. So it is mostly a tool. But no other strategy is +EV vs a GTO one that’s what makes it GTO. People use it as a tool to balance with their exploitative strategies

    2. I don’t think you understand what GTO is, you cannot exploit GTO play
The AI playing against itself achieves to have GTO equilibrium so it cannot be exploited
In real life, you can use this tool to try to be as close as humanly possible of it if you play against better opponents than you or if you don’t have any infos on your opponents, and you can have it as a basis to then deviate from it to exploit lesser opponents’ mistakes

    3. Math is what earns and protects 80% of your profit imo. The extra bit gives an edge on battles. But what kind of table is this adjust your play accordingly is based on a mathematical scale.

    4. You are assuming an inbuilt upper limit to AI algorithmic solving. There is no limit, there is no one way to solve. It is up to the programmer. If you just let an AI loose versus another AI provided you have the right setup, the learned behavior is to avoid any exploit and you settle into well defined ranges. Any exploitable pattern the other AI will train out of the competitive AI. This is a very simple setup and a simple solution. It does not translate to versus exploitable humans you are right but that does not mean there are not solvers that are purpose built for human exploit. Also any theory you have on how to exploit the unexploitable AI is likely wrong and was likely seen thousands of times in the millions of simulated trials it went through. You could beat it but on average it will beat you as the edge it has is that you have no edge over it and will make sub optimal plays. A better AI for beating you would decimate you and win almost always.

    5. Oh and the way that you beat this AI is by being a better exploiter of the other players at the table. That is how good human players beat tight to gto players sometimes as well.

    1. Lol look up gtowizard. It costs money but it’s the most effective gto program

    2. The stuff he’s talking about is all in the open and available. Plenty of coaching sites and services give you access to so called solvers.

    1. Just gonna say that …as an everyday grinder for a couple years…poker IS miserable… It’s not like the wsop final, its not like the movies…gto is likely the best way forward, but it will never make the game enjoyable… Although, low stakes. Friendly games. Are fun…do what you want to the detriment of fun…. There is a saying in online gaming or gamer circles that i feel applies here… Gamers (poker players) will optimize the fun out of everything

    2. @@KareusCaliburnWe’re playing for real money, there’s never been an element of “fun” unless you’re a gambling addict (which most old-school players were/are)

    3. @@iandutta5622 Have been a grinder and profitable player for years, have several cashes on my hendon, but primarily play cash games. That being said, I have fun every time I sit down to play, win, lose or break even. I love the game and even during my biggest downswings I’ve always been able to have fun while playing.

    4. @@iandutta5622 he said that this is why poker is miserable nowadays…i just said its always been that way…can i take your comment to agree that it isnt fun to grind? Home games, low stakes do what you want…multiway with 72o (damn it greg!) that CAN be fun…but the grind hasnt ever been fun…gto doesnt make it more or less, it is what it is

    1. @@gesus.christ99 first let’s focus on ranges that his opponent could have that are winning pre-flop. Any pocket pair, AKo, AKs, AQs. So that’s 15 hands that his opponent possibly has that are ahead preflop. Now, if Daniel raised this same amount here and his opponent decides to 5x or worse shove all in, that puts Daniel in a very odd place forcing him to fold or flat call and then what open the action postflop with a check?;. Now let’s just say his opponent had QQ. Now if Daniel is driving this bus, as his opponent with trip Queens I’m not going to try to outbet him, but as his opponent I’m not folding QQ so I flat call him all the way down and check/call river with QQ. Doesn’t the excessive betting with AQo seem like a bad idea now. It’s called trapping. If your opponent is calling your excessive bet size rather than folding,
      A. He doesn’t know any better
      B. He feels he’s getting a good price to call, and he’s on some draw.
      OR
      C. and he’s got a range on you and believes he’s ahead x)% of the time in this scenario.

    2. @@Ace-x6x you trippin, in what spot?? Btn vs bb 100bb deep vs open raise?

  3. the ai bots are playing to play optimal.. but not playing to make money… if they play “optimal” then over time nobody can do anything but also play optimal… and nobody will make enough money to make it worthwhile… which kills poker.
So really the ai isnt achieving the goal, which is to make the most profit. its just trying its best to not get exploited – but that’s basically being a nit in a super over complex way lol.. I hate ai.

  4. Not everything a computer does is AI. It’s an algorithm. A calculator.

    1. He’s talking about machine learning algos i.e. AI.

Before ML or AI poker was not close to being solved. Now with the help of ML we’ve arrived at superhuman performance in some forms of poker.

  5. Man, I missed the old days when you go play poker live, and it was all about. What does he think? I think he has.? “And the had I feeling plays”

  6. It has not ruined poker, it’s just turned all new players into 1 person

  7. I have my own chart:

    Me vs Villain:

AK vs AQ = fold. Queen always flops
AA vs any pair = fold. Smaller pair hits set
JACKS vs anything = Jam all-in. Always wrong if you try to think it through.
AK suited vs AK suited or AK off = FOLD. Villain always makes flush.

  8. Ai plays computer software .. real life poker with real randomness is totally different

  9. If you go play GTO I will smoke you playing real emotional poker.

    GTO belongs online, that’s it.
